Fall Foliage and Front Doors

I know I'm really having fun with this fall pumpkin decor stuff!

 
 
 
I also love how mature flowers bloom come fall.  Here are some fun before and after pictures :-)
 
Unfortunately, where I live, in another month or two the ground will be covered in SNOW!

I picked up that Fall Wreath last year at Hancock Fabrics for FOUR dollars!!!!  It was end of the season and 90% off.  Isn't it the best, end of the year clearances :-)

 

 
And here is some fun photos of the iron bowl filled with pumpkins and pinecones!  (I need two of those bowls so I can keep one on the table and one outside!!)
 

 
 
Oh the sad puppy, anytime I leave the front door he gives me this look.....even though I was coming right back in!

I don't really have a green thumb so when I see RESULTS, I get excited :-)
 
My neighbor has a REALLY good green thumb.....you have to remember my Mother in Law is my neighbor :-)

Do you guys like entering giveaways?  I try to enter them because wouldn’t it be fun to win?? Make Large Canvas Wall Art Out of An Old Map

One of my favorite things about thrift store decorating is finding something unexpected and giving it a new life. When I came across an old vintage map, I immediately saw the potential for unique wall art. Instead of leaving it tucked away, I cut it into sections and mounted it onto canvases to create a custom piece full of character and history. If you love decorating with vintage finds and creating budget-friendly home decor, this simple DIY project might inspire your next thrift store makeover. I had previously picked up an old slightly laminated MAP from the same thrift store for a few dollars. I began to wonder what I could do with my map???? Tick tock, tick tock, my creative juices were coming……. Pottery Barn Knockoff–Distressed Clock Decor

Ahhhhhh Pottery Barn.  The gorgeous pictures, the GIANT price tags.  If only we could re-create for less everything we see in that magazine.  Well today’s post will give that a try  – Pottery Barn for under $10.00.  Yep, that’s right, this next project cost me around 6 bucks.  When I was at the thrift store I spotted this lonely round board.  It was almost 2 feet around, insanely heavy and covered in laminate but I thought hummmm……this has some CLOCK potential!  So I bought it for a whopping $1.50. Here is the lovely BEFORE picture: And here is the AFTER: Now how I got there.  :-) First I distressed the plastic and wood by sawing the edges, hammering the center, and quickly sanding the entire circle.  I didn’t spend a lot of time doing this because I had another idea to help with the distressing which you’ll see in the next few steps.
